Make every Words With Friends turn count
Words With Friends rewards players who squeeze the most points from awkward racks. This finder takes your tiles — blanks included — and ranks every legal word by its in-game score, so you can quickly compare a quiet defensive play against a board-opening bonus word.
- Type in your tiles. Enter all seven, using ? for any blanks.
- Match the board. Use the "Contains", "Starts" or "Ends" filters to lock in the letter you are building through.
- Pick your points. Words are grouped by length with the score on the right and the highest values at the top.
How Words With Friends scoring differs
Although it looks similar to Scrabble, Words With Friends has its own tile values and a different board layout, including the placement of double and triple-word squares. A word that is mediocre in Scrabble can be a strong play here and vice versa, which is exactly why it helps to score with the correct values. Every total on this page reflects the Words With Friends tile chart, not the Scrabble one.
Tips to climb the scoreboard
- Hunt the bonus squares. The triple-word and triple-letter tiles swing games. A modest word placed perfectly often beats a long word placed plainly.
- Bank the Swap+. If your rack is hopeless, swapping tiles without losing a turn (when available) is better than forcing a weak two-pointer.
- Learn the short words. Two and three-letter words let you play parallel to existing tiles and score in multiple directions at once.
- Hold flexible tiles. Blanks and S tiles open up bonus words — try not to waste them on small plays.
- Think defense. Avoid leaving a triple-word square wide open right before your opponent's turn.
