It depends on the game. The classic Wordle uses five-letter words, our Wordle Unlimited uses six, and Scrabble and Words With Friends reward longer seven and eight-letter "bingo" words. Browsing by length is a great way to study the words that come up most often in your game.
Everyday words are far more likely to appear as answers and are easier to play, so the lists put them at the top. Rarer dictionary words still appear further down for completeness.
